“PLANETS are thrilled to announce that the eagle (finally) has landed!”
“2 tons of intra-operative radio-therapy machine (IORT) arrived from the USA this week – currently undergoing acceptance testing. This is the UK’s first ever mobile electron beam radiotherapy machine for treating cancers during surgery. Thanks to everyone who has supported our fundraising which has raised £350k of the £500k that we need to fund the machine for the next 3 years.”
“This machine will make a difference to so many patients; initially pancreatic, neuroendocrine, colorectal and bladder tumour groups, in the second wave, head and neck, esophageal, lung and in the third wave breast and gynae (cervical cancer mainly).
